Principal
Mrs. Katie Heskin
School Leadership
Katie to provide a blurb here about her.
Teachers
Ms. Siobhán Murphy
1st Class Teacher
English · Maths · SESE
Siobhán joined Modeligo National School four years ago after teaching in Kilkenny and brings infectious enthusiasm to everything she does. She loves nurturing young readers and has introduced a class library corner that has children choosing books purely for fun. Outside school, she is a keen sea swimmer and a member of the Dungarvan Drama Society.
Mr. Conor Walsh
2nd Class Teacher
Maths · Science · PE
Conor is a graduate of Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, and is in his sixth year at Modeligo National School. He is the school's PE co-ordinator and runs the popular lunchtime GAA skills sessions. In class he loves making maths tangible — his pupils will confidently tell you that fractions are best understood with pizza. He coaches the under-10s for Modeligo GAA at the weekend.
Ms. Aoife Brennan
3rd Class Teacher
English · Science · PE
Aoife trained at St Patrick's College in Dublin and has a special interest in arts-integrated learning. Her classroom is always a riot of colour — murals, papier-mâché, and student poetry cover every wall. She runs the school choir and has led the group to two county Feis victories in recent years. She is also the school's Digital Learning Co-ordinator.
Mr. Patrick Doyle
4th Class Teacher
History · Geography · Irish
Patrick is one of Modeligo National School's most experienced teachers with over twenty years in the classroom. A native Irish speaker from Gaeltacht Waterford, he brings his love of language and local history into every lesson. His map-making projects are legendary — fourth class pupils produce remarkably detailed maps of the townland each year. He is a fluent hurler and a committed volunteer with Coiste na nÓg.
Ms. Niamh Keane
5th Class Teacher
STEM · Coding · English
Niamh joined the school three years ago from a background that includes both teaching and software development — a combination that has transformed the school's approach to coding and STEM. She introduced a robotics club that won a regional Scratch award last year. Pupils in her class frequently say they forget they're learning because it feels like play. She holds a postgraduate in Computer Science from WIT.
Mr. Dermot Flanagan
6th Class Teacher
Maths · Science · SPHE
Dermot has a particular gift for preparing sixth-class pupils for the transition to secondary school — his calm, encouraging style gives students real confidence. He is the school's Science co-ordinator and organises the annual Science Week fair, which draws families from across the parish. He also facilitates the school's wellbeing programme and the after-school Astronomy Club. Outside school he coaches junior athletics at Dungarvan AC.

Mr. Felonious Gru
