Season’s Greetings From all at Modeligo National School

As the term comes to an end, we would like to wish everyone in our school community a very happy Christmas. It has been an incredibly busy and productive term, filled with hard work, creativity, and many achievements to be proud of. We started the new year welcoming our new Junior Infants, who are well settled in at this stage and are learning and having fun each day. The school took part in GAA matches, participated in GAA coaching sessions, Zumba Dance classes and Hallowe’en Dress Up. The pupils have also been busy working on a wide variety of projects and made some beautiful art creations.

We also had our Open Day, which gave us the opportunity to show the incoming infants and their parents the lovely facilities and resources which we have.

The pupils have shown great dedication and enthusiasm all term, and in recognition of this fact, we decided to  kick-start the festive season with  a trip to the cinema to watch the Polar Express, a lovely treat for all the pupils and well-deserved. Sincere thanks to the PA for subsidising the cost of the bus and the treats on the day, much appreciated.

The christmas party in the PE Hall was a huge success. The smell of hot chocolate wafting in the corridor and the sound of popping popcorn allowed us all get in to the spirit of the event as the pupils sang a lovely rendition of the christmas classics. Those who participated in the Waterford Library Reading Programme were presented with their certificates. 6th class decorated the school and the classrooms beautifully for Christmas. The pupils from 4th-6th class collaborated together to compile the christmas newsletter and what a fine job they did! The christmas newsletter can be read by clicking on the link, we’re  sure you will enjoy reading it. The videos of each event were also shared via the Aladdin app, enjoy!

Well done everyone on a great term, enjoy the rest and we will see you all on January 5th 2026. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all!
